Our History

Barawid Incorporated began its humble journey in May 1980, driven by a passion to serve the elderly, mentally disabled veterans, and individuals with intellectual disabilities. This commitment to care and compassion has only grown stronger over the years, remaining a guiding force in our mission to this day. Our early beginnings were marked by the operation of 6 and 12-bed facilities in both Northern and Southern California, where we provided a supportive and inclusive environment for those in need.

As we look back on our history, we are reminded of the countless moments of joy, growth, and connection that have shaped our organization. From the early days of serving a small but dedicated community to our current role as a trusted provider of care and support, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to thrive.
